A white supremacist musician is tasked with determining the rules to a marathon to take place in a biodome on the moon and thinks it should be separated by skin color

Posted on June 28, 2025 by Joke Poo

But he decides to be open minded and review the files of each person entered to determine their placement. In other words…

A racist bassist bases race-based space base races on a case by case basis.

Joke Poo:

Title: Data Dump

A tech-bro CEO, obsessed with data privacy while simultaneously exploiting user information, is tasked with implementing a new company-wide policy regarding data security. He wants to ensure everyone follows the rules, but also wants to keep a close eye on potentially valuable data.

So, he decides to be thorough and personally audits every employee’s access logs to determine their security clearance level. In other words…

A data-leech breach-speech teaches each reach to teach each breach.

Okay, let’s analyze this joke.

Core Elements:

  • Racism as a Premise: The humor is rooted in the inherent absurdity and wrongness of racism. The situation is made funny by the ridiculous intersection of this ideology with a futuristic, scientific endeavor.
  • Wordplay (Pun): The punchline relies heavily on alliteration and the homophone "bases/bassists." It’s a playful twist on the expected outcome of a white supremacist being in charge of the situation.
  • Irony: The irony lies in the supposed "open-mindedness" of the character, which is immediately undermined by his race-based classification system.
  • Sci-Fi Setting: The lunar biodome marathon is a bizarre and unusual setting, contributing to the overall absurdity. It also adds a layer of commentary on how racism might manifest even in futuristic, supposedly enlightened societies.

Factual/Interesting Tidbits to Exploit:

  • Marathons in Space: No actual marathons have been held in space, but the challenges are significant. Radiation exposure, the need for life support, and the altered physiology in low gravity all present hurdles. Interestingly, in 1971, the Apollo 15 mission saw astronaut David Scott doing a "hammer and feather" experiment while jogging on the moon, proving Galileo’s law of falling bodies holds true even on the lunar surface, so theoretically a marathon could be run.
  • Biodomes: The concept of a biodome attempts to create a self-sustaining ecosystem. The largest enclosed ecosystem ever created was the Biosphere 2 experiment in Arizona in the early 1990s, but was not quite as successful as its creators hoped.
  • The Lunar Environment: The moon’s gravity is about 1/6th of Earth’s. This would dramatically affect running style and performance. Also, the lack of atmosphere means no air resistance, which could be both helpful and disorienting for runners.
  • Musical Bassists: Bassists are often jokingly considered the "underappreciated" or "quiet" members of bands. This can add another layer of irony to the idea of one wielding so much discriminatory power. Some famous bassists include Paul McCartney of The Beatles, and Jaco Pastorius who revolutionized the instrument.

New Humor (Joke/Observation/Did You Know):

Joke:

Why was the lunar marathon committee so concerned about equal opportunity? Because after the racist bassist’s debacle, they realized that the only thing more dangerous than race-based regulations was gravity-based regulations. Turns out, the head of the lunar athletics commission was secretly a planetary-sized black hole with a serious bias towards runners with a higher Schwarzschild radius.

Explanation:

  • Plays on the absurdity: Builds on the initial ridiculousness by introducing another biased figure based on physics instead of race.
  • Utilizes factual tidbits: Leverages knowledge about black holes (Schwarzschild radius is related to mass) and gravity to create a humorous, albeit dark, twist.
  • Continues the "over-the-top" escalation: Makes the situation even more outrageous and improbable.
  • Critiques Bias: Highlights the silliness of any form of discrimination.
