Fake Poo

The bell rings at Heaven’s Door and Peter gets up to open it.

Posted on September 23, 2025 by Joke Poo

Outside a guy, eyes wide open, throws his arms up, shouts "BOO!!!" and – poof – he's gone.

Peter closes the door thoughtfully and is about to return to his desk when the doorbell rings again.

It's the guy again, shouting "BOO!!!" and waving his arms before – poof – he disappears again.

Peter closes the door a little more energetically now – who likes to be fooled? – and wants to go back to his desk, but the doorbell rings again. Peter opens it briefly, sees the guy, slams the door shut, and stomps angrily toward the boss's office.

"Boss!" he bursts through the door, "some clown at the door is doing…" "Calm down, calm down," God interrupts him, "that's Mr. Boone, he's still being revived."

Joke Poo: The Server’s Reboot

The chime echoes in the Cloud Admin’s monitoring room and Brenda sighs, getting up to check the console.

A new user request flashes: “PING!!!” – then the connection times out.

Brenda closes the console window and is about to get back to debugging when another request pops up: “PING!!!” – again, a timeout.

Brenda slams the window closed a little more aggressively now – who likes flaky connections? – and is about to file a bug report when the chime rings again. Brenda opens the console, sees the same request, closes it instantly, and storms off to the Head of IT’s office.

“Boss!” she bursts in, “some idiot user is spamming ‘PING!!!’ and…”

“Relax, Brenda, relax,” the Head of IT interrupts, “that’s Mr. Beepington. He’s still booting up after the system crash.”

Alright, let’s dissect this heavenly humor!

Joke Breakdown:

  • Setup: St. Peter guarding Heaven’s gate, a classic scenario.
  • Punchline Delivery: A guy shouting “Boo!” and disappearing repeatedly. The humor hinges on the unexpected, repetitive nature of the prank, and Peter’s increasing annoyance.
  • Twist: The explanation that the “clown” is Mr. Boone, still being revived, delivers the final punchline. The play on words “revived” alluding to being resurrected, and the “Boo!” representing the early stages of life solidifies the joke.

Key Elements:

  • Heaven/St. Peter: Religious context, gatekeeper archetype, expectations of serenity.
  • Prank/Boo: Childish behavior, unexpected in a heavenly setting, repetitive annoyance.
  • Mr. Boone/Revival: Pun, unexpected identity, the absurdity of someone being revived in a chaotic way.

Comedic Enrichment:

Now, let’s leverage those elements for some fresh humor. Here’s an amusing “Did You Know?” that plays off the original joke:

Did you know?:

According to the Archangel Archives: Standard Operating Procedures, section 7, subsection 3b, “Premature Boo-ers” (those whose earthly “Boo!” threshold remains unnaturally high post-mortem) are subject to a mandatory “De-Boofication” program. This involves repeated exposure to inspirational kitty-rescue videos and seminars on the appropriate volume for celestial harp playing. Failure to comply after three attempts results in a temporary assignment managing the Cloud Storage system. Nobody wants that.

Why this works:

  • Expands the world: It builds on the joke’s premise, adding absurd details and rules to Heaven.
  • Internal Consistency: It uses the “Boo!” prank as a starting point and creates a logical (albeit ridiculous) consequence.
  • Humor through Detail: The specifics (inspirational kitty videos, cloud storage punishment) add to the absurdity and create a more vivid, and funnier, mental image.

Additionally, the idea of someone being named “Boone” fits seamlessly with a heaven gate joke.

Another option:

New Joke:

Why did Mr. Boone refuse to go through the Pearly Gates the first time?

Because he was afraid of the ‘Boo!’lean logic!
