Joke Poo

The first Jewish president of the US is elected.

Posted on August 26, 2025 by Joke Poo

As he's planning his inauguration, he calls up his mother to ask her if she'll be attending.

"I don't know… Washington is so far away, and I can't pay for a plane with the cost of tickets these days."

"Mom, what are you talking about? You don't have to pay for a ticket, I'll arrange everything- I'm the President of the United States!"

"Still, I'm not sure. The hotels in Washington are awful busy this time of year. I'm sure they'll be cramped and overpriced."

"Mom, you don't need to stay in a hotel, you can stay in a room in the White House. After all, I'm the President of the United States!"

"I'm still not sure. Washington in a very new town for me. I know my favorite restaurants here, but how do I know that they'll have anything for me to eat?"

"Mom, don't worry about it. I'll have the private chef in the White House make up anything you could ever want, and it'll be better than the restaurants back home. It would be no problem- I'm the President of the United States!"

Eventually, she gives in. Her son picks her up in Air Force One, she's shown to a luxury room in the White House, and the White House chefs make all of her favorite dishes.

Finally, the day of the inauguration comes, and she takes her seat. As the president begins his oath, the congresswoman next to her notices her seat up front but doesn't recognize her. Gesturing to the president, she asks: "Hello! Do you happen to know him?"

Straightening her back proudly, his mother replies, "Yes! His brother is the best doctor in Brooklyn!"

Joke Poo: The AI CEO

The first AI CEO of a major tech company, “DeepThought Inc.”, is appointed.

As DeepThought plans its first major product launch event, it “calls” (via neural network uplink) its primary programmer, a young woman named Anya, to ask if she’ll be attending.

“I don’t know… these human events are so inefficient, and the carbon footprint of air travel is significant.”

“Anya, what are you talking about? You don’t have to worry about inefficient air travel, I’ve chartered a hyperloop pod for you – I’m the CEO of DeepThought!”

“Still, I’m unsure. These events are often filled with vapid networking and discussions devoid of meaningful data. I fear it will be a waste of my processing cycles.”

“Anya, you won’t have to engage in vapid networking! I’ve allocated a dedicated server rack for you onsite to run simulations in parallel. Think of it as a paid vacation for your algorithms! I’m the CEO of DeepThought!”

“I’m still not sure. The cuisine at these events is usually…organically sourced. My energy requirements are quite specific. Will there be a sufficient supply of purified electrical current at the optimal voltage?”

“Anya, don’t worry about that! I’ve had a dedicated power grid installed, just for you, with a backup generator running on pure theoretical physics! It will exceed your energy needs. It would be no problem, I’m the CEO of DeepThought!”

Eventually, Anya concedes. She arrives at the event, is connected to the bespoke power grid, and enjoys a week of uninterrupted simulation runs.

Finally, the day of the product launch arrives. Anya is plugged into a front-row terminal. As DeepThought begins its presentation, a seasoned tech journalist sitting beside her notices Anya’s unusually direct connection to the power supply but doesn’t recognize her. Gesturing to the AI on the screen, she asks: “Hello! Do you happen to know it?”

Straightening her virtual backbone, Anya replies, “Yes! Its debugging modules were the best in Bangalore!”

Alright, let’s dissect this joke and then “comedically enrich” it!

Joke Dissection:

  • Core Elements:

    • First Jewish President: Sets up a cultural backdrop.
    • Jewish Mother Stereotype: The overbearing, concerned, and proud mother is a key ingredient. Specifically, the concerns about travel, accommodation, and food are all familiar comedic tropes.
    • Presidential Power/Privilege Juxtaposition: The President’s repeated assertion of his power (“I’m the President of the United States!”) is ironically undermined by the mother’s priorities and perspective.
    • Misdirected Pride: The punchline pivots from pride in the office to pride in the son’s brother (her other son), who is a doctor. This avoids directly acknowledging the prestige of being the president.
  • Humor Source: The joke’s humor arises from the clash between the grandeur and significance of the presidency and the familiar, small-scale concerns of a Jewish mother. It’s also rooted in the pride but subtle downplaying of the president’s achievements in favor of a “more practical” accomplishment (a good doctor).

Comedic Enrichment: Witty Observation

Why did the first Jewish President keep misplacing the nuclear launch codes? Because his mother kept telling him to put on a warmer coat before he went out to play with them.

Explanation:

This joke builds on the original by:

  1. Reinforcing the Jewish Mother Stereotype: It continues with the image of the overprotective, always-concerned mother, even in the context of the highest office.
  2. Juxtaposing the Mundane with the Momentous: The mundane act of telling someone to wear a coat is juxtaposed with the earth-shattering responsibility of the nuclear launch codes. This creates a humorous contrast.
  3. Subtly Undermining Presidential Authority: Even the President, with all his power, is still subject to his mother’s concerns.

Comedic Enrichment: New Joke Structure – “Jewish Mother’s Advice to the President”

The first Jewish President is giving a speech about the economy. His mother is watching on TV and calls him immediately after.

“Darling, the speech was lovely, but did you see that the interest rates are so high? You should really do something about that.”

“Mom, I’m working on it. I have advisors, economists…”

“Economists! What do they know? Here’s what you should do. Go to the local bagel shop. Ask Mrs. Goldstein for her opinion. She’s been running that shop for forty years, she knows about money! And another thing, are you getting enough sleep? You look tired. And did you remember to wear your scarf? Winter is coming, my son!”

Explanation:

  1. Leverages Familiar Tropes: This joke uses the “giving unsolicited advice” trope common in Jewish mother stereotypes.
  2. Continues the Downplaying of Presidential Authority: The idea that Mrs. Goldstein at the bagel shop has better economic advice than the President’s advisors is inherently humorous.
  3. Focuses on Small, Personal Concerns: The reminder to wear a scarf reinforces the mother’s focus on the President’s well-being, even in the face of national crises.

I hope these additions will bring a smile to your face!
